The year 2025 brought heartbreaking news to our officiating family with the passing of both Johnny Bryant and Andre Morgan. These two remarkable men each gave more than 20 years of their lives to the IOA, earning IHSA State Finals assignments and the respect of everyone who knew them.
Johnny and Andre were masters of their craft—their rules knowledge was exceptional, their professionalism unquestionable. But what truly set them apart was their humor and the light they brought to the meeting room, every pregame meeting, and every game they worked.
Those of us blessed to have worked alongside them or trained under their guidance carry heavy hearts. Their presence, laughter, and wisdom will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
